    AIAA to Recognize Technical Achievement at the 36th AIAA Digital Avionics Systems Conference


    August 16, 2017 – Reston, Va. – The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) will present the 2017 Dr. John C. Ruth Digital Avionics Award during the 36th AIAA Digital Avionics Systems Conference (DASC) September 17–21, 2017 in St. Petersburg, Florida.

    Dr. John R. Moore, principal systems engineer at Rockwell Collins, Inc. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, will receive the award. His citation reads: “For pioneering work to develop enabling technologies for Unmanned Aircraft Systems, and the standards to adopt them into the National Air Space.”

    This award, named in honor of Dr. John C. Ruth, who founded the AIAA Digital Avionics Technical Committee, is presented to recognize outstanding achievement in technical management and/or implementation of digital avionics in space or aeronautical systems to include system analysis, design, development or application.
