DEMAND for UNMANNED Symposium to Highlight Present and Future Unmanned Systems and Autonomous Systems Roadmap Among Discussion Points
AIAA will hold its DEMAND for UNMANNED symposium on June 15–16 at the Washington Hilton, Washington, D.C. Held in conjunction with the AIAA Aviation and Aeronautics Forum and Exposition (AIAA AVIATION 2016), the symposium will examine the emergence of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), how they are creating demand for advances in autonomy, robotics, and machine intelligence, and how they are changing the nature of civil and military aviation.

Voting Is Now Closed
Voting on the election of AIAA Board of Directors candidates and on the proposed amendment to the AIAA Constitution was open 21 March through 16 May, and is now closed. Thank you to all of those who voted. Results will be announced soon.

Countdown: FINAL Day to Make YOUR Vote Count!
The 2016 AIAA BoD election presents you with an opportunity to play a vital role in shaping your Institute’s future. For 2016, a key constitutional amendment with important proposed governance changes, and an outstanding slate of candidates are included on the ballot. In order for the proposed changes to take place, at least 15% of AIAA voting members need to vote and 2/3 of that 15% need to approve the change, so we really need you to vote.

A complete Election Guide, with an outline of the proposed governance changes and candidate statements, is available at www.aiaa.org/vote. To request a paper ballot, contact Survey & Ballot Systems at 952.974.2339 or support@directvote.net (Mon.–Fri., 0800–1700 hrs CDT). San Jose State University Wins 20th Annual Student Design/Build/Fly Competition
The AIAA Foundation congratulates the winning teams in the 2015–2016 Textron Aviation/Raytheon Missile Systems/AIAA Foundation Student Design/Build/Fly (DBF) Competition, held April 15–17 at a Textron Aviation airfield in Wichita, Kansas. This year’s competition garnered interest from 137 teams from 24 states and 16 foreign nations, making it the largest DBF competition yet held.
