NASA announced Tuesday a Grand Challenge through which it is seeking input from the public on how it can efficiently identify potentially hazardous asteroids or improve its plans for capturing one and placing it in lunar orbit. The six areas NASA is looking for ideas in are asteroid observation; asteroid redirection systems; asteroid deflection demonstrations; asteroid capture systems; crew systems for asteroid exploration; and partnerships and participatory engagement. The deadline for submission is 18 July. (Image Credit: NASA)
