Cosmonauts Fyodor Yurchikhin and Alexander Misurkin successfully completed a spacewalk outside the International Space Station on Monday, replacing a main valve and preparing it for a new lab that Russia will launch by the end of the year to replace the Pirs air lock. They also installed clamps and retrieved science experiments, completing most of their tasks. Two spacewalks are planned for next month. NASA astronaut Chris Cassidy and the ESA’s Luca Parmitano will continue preparations for the lab on 9 and 16 July. (Image Credit: NASA)
