The U.S. Air Force is examining the role and makeup of UAVs in its fleet, particulary in campaigns inside an anti-access/area denial (A2/AD) environment. Currently, there are no current plans to develop a Reaper replacement, but the USAF is keeping a close eye on the Navy’s unmanned carrier-launched surveillance and strike (UCLASS) aircraft program. One official said the Air Force could potentially leverage what is developed there, although no timeframe was specified. (Image Credit: USAF)
