NASA has achieved a key milestone in the development of the Space Launch System by passing a preliminary design review. About 200 documents and 15 terabytes of data were involved in the review. The review was incredibly detailed to ensure that plans for vehicle integration, flight software, test, verification and operations will result in a safe, affordable and sustainable vehicle design. The next significant challenge for the project will be the Key Decision Point-C when the rocket can transition from concept formulation to implementation. (Image Credit: NASA)
