NASA and the FAA are preparing to intentionally crash a helicopter as part of a test designed to improve safety. The drop test, from a height of about 30 feet , will take place on 28 August at the space agency's Langley Research Center in Virginia. NASA is working with the FAA and the U.S. Navy to make helicopters and other rotary crafts more serviceable, quicker, quieter, safer, and greener. A CH-46 Sea Knight helicopter will be used in the tests. (Image Credit: NASA/Langley/David C. Bowman)
