A technical problem has pushed back the much-anticipated launch of SpaceX’s version 1.1 Falcon 9 rocket by three days. Monday’s launch attempt was repeatedly stopped and restarted, due to an anomaly with a vent valve for the rocket’s liquid-oxygen tank, then a power-supply parameter that was set too low. SpaceX said that the launch vehicle and satellite are in great shape. This will be the company’s first geosynchronous launch, a major milestone toward certifying the company’s rockets so they meet the Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle program’s stringent requirements.
