AIAA is pleased to announce that Armando Gomez-Farias, of the University of Texas, San Antonio, has won the 2014 AIAA Abe M. Zarem Award for Distinguished Achievement in Astronautics.

Gomez-Farias, a Master Student at the University of Texas, San Antonio, was selected to receive the award in astronautics for his research paper “A Novel Finite Element Sensitivity Method for Plasticity.” Gomez-Farias will present his paper during the International Astronautical Congress, September 29 – October 3, in Toronto, Canada.
