In an article for the Space Review, Duane Hyland, AIAA communications specialist, STEM/Workforce portfolio manager, and Grassroots Program manager, wrote that “a panel of experts” from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory gave “a comprehensive look at current and past missions” to Mars at AIAA SPACE 2014. Joe C. Parrish, NASA JPL deputy manager of the Mars Program Formulation Office, said, “We are quite fortunate at this time to have eleven missions over the next decade: five operating, two on their way, and four on board for future deployment.” (Image: Joe C.
