The Associated Press reported that, due to an anomaly, a reusable Falcon 9 rocket exploded on Friday during a test flight. SpaceX spokesman John Taylor said that the flight was automatically terminated as soon as the issue was detected. No one was injured. The company, which does send cargo to the International Space Station, will learn more about the issue before another test launch is made. Meanwhile, the Washington Post noted that it is currently not known if this will have any effect on the company’s efforts to be awarded commercial crew flights to the ISS. (Image Credit: Wikimedia)
