ABC News reported that this past Saturday was the 30th anniversary of the first launch of space shuttle Discovery, the third space shuttle to join NASA’s fleet. Among the shuttle’s highlights were missions to launch the Hubble Space Telescope into orbit in 1990 and a trip to the International Space Station in 2005. Following its last mission in 2011, Discovery was placed on display at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. (Image Credit: Wikimedia)
