Robin Murphy is a professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Texas A&M, an IEEE Fellow, and director of the Center for Emergency Informatics and the Center for Robot-Assisted Search and Rescue. She received her PhD from Georgia Tech and conducts research in artificial intelligence and human-robot interaction. Her work includes insertion of ground, air, and marine robots at 15 disasters, most recently Fukushima and the Tohoku Tsunami. She serves on several government and professional boards, including the Defense Science Board, and is a recipient of the US Air Force Exemplary Civilian Service Award.
