    Yuan Chen

    Aerospace Technologist
    NASA Langley Research Center


    Yuan Chen received her Ph.D. degree in reliability engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1998, with a Graduate Fellowship from the National Institute of Standards and Technologies (NIST). Currently, she is a senior technical member with the Electronic Systems Branch, NASA Langley Research Center. She has been supporting a number of flight projects, research projects, formulation studies and trade studies, and her research area is on the development of new technologies for space applications and their reliability and qualification methodologies. She is the lead of the NASA EEE Parts Community of Practice and a member on the NASA Engineering and Safety Center (NESC) Avionics Technical Discipline Team. Prior to joining Langley Research Center, she was a member of technical staff with Bell Labs, Lucent Technologies, and a senior technical member with Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).

    She is a senior member of IEEE and an editor of IEEE Transactions on Device and Materials Reliability. She is also a senior member of AIAA and a member on AIAA Computer System Technical Committee.
