AIAA members make themselves available to work with elected officials at the state and national levels. They meet with officials to provide background on key aerospace issues, provide seminars to educate and interact with audiences about the issues, regularly testify before lawmakers on the issues, and write white papers that document the basis for and implications of these important issues.
For the past several years, AIAA has been working to strengthen and focus its state-level public policy programs. This includes establishing and expanding the scope of state aerospace days in about a half-dozen states. These aerospace days involve extensive collaborative interactions by AIAA members and aerospace community representatives with state legislators and their staff. It is AIAA’s goal to extend these events to many more states in the coming years. We welcome your input regarding which states to prioritize next.
