AIAA members make themselves available to work with elected officials at the state and national levels. They meet with officials to provide background on key aerospace issues, provide seminars to educate and interact with audiences about the issues, regularly testify before lawmakers on the issues, and write white papers that document the basis for and implications of these important issues.
AIAA members also take part in aerospace events that are held annually in several state capitals across the country. These aerospace events involve extensive collaborative interactions between the aerospace community and state officials. Some states we have active participation in include:
The Public Policy Program intends to resurrect the “August is for Aerospace” program where our local sections are more active speaking with their elected officials about our key issues during district work periods and engaging those lawmakers in their outreach activities.
