    AIAA will offer two courses Sunday – Monday, 8 – 9 September 2013, in conjunction with the AIAA SPACE Conference.  

    Introduction to Space Systems [cancelled]

    This 2-day course “Introduction to Space Systems” provides an introduction to the concepts and technologies of modern space systems. Space systems combine engineering, science, and external phenomena. We concentrate on scientific and engineering foundations of spacecraft systems and interactions among various subsystems.

    Satellite Communications, Today and Tomorrow: Technical Basics and Market and Technology Trends [cancelled]

    This course provides and introduction to those aspects of RF transmission technology which are important to and govern the design of satellite communication systems.

     

    Instructors:

    Edward Ashford, former Vice President for Technology Development for SES of Luxembourg, and former Vice President for Broadcast Satellite Development at a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin
    Joseph N. Pelton, former Dean of the International Space University and Director Emeritus of the Space and Advanced Communications Research Institute (SACRI) at George Washington University
