    As noted in the August 30, 2013 Aviation Week editorial, the U.S. faces a "timebomb of complacency" with regards to aeronautics R&D and particularly the government research that will not produce results for a decade or more. This panel will discuss and explore the imperative for Aeronautics R&D and the roles of industry, government and academia in that endeavor.
