Distance Learning Courses in the Convenience of Your Home or Office

AIAA Features Two Types of Distance Learning Courses

1. Home Study Courses

Students receive instructions for completing the course, along with a course notebook, problem sets, and accompanying texts. Over five months, they follow a proven curriculum of reading and homework assignments, and forward completed homework assignments to the instructor for review and comment via mail, email, or fax. The instructor will also answer questions by email or phone. The time required varies depending on the course and the student's prior knowledge, but in general, amounts to about 20 hours of work per month. Course completion certificates are awarded upon satisfactory completion of all homework assignments. This is a self pace course.

The following courses began in February 2013 and will last through the end of June 2013. Please contact Megan Scheidt for more information.

  • Advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics
  • Computational Fluid Turbulence
  • Fundamentals of Aircraft Performance and Design
  • Introduction to Computational Fluid Dynamics
  • Introduction to Space Flight
