The president of AIAA, Mike Griffin, stated: “With AVIATION 2013, AIAA is pleased to offer a brand-new forum that will go beyond the discussion of the purely technical issues that AIAA conferences often explore. We will discuss the policy, technological, and environmental challenges facing the future of flight. AVIATION 2013 will be the ‘must attend’ event in 2013 for aviation professionals, regardless of your job title or position.”

Jim Albaugh, president and chief executive officer (retired), Boeing Commercial Airplanes, added: “We are excited by AVIATION 2013’s potential to bring together the entire aviation enterprise for the frank discussions necessary to maintain innovation, spark discovery, and drive progress throughout the aviation value chain. AVIATION 2013’s programming will provide the breadth and depth of content that is necessary for tackling the tough questions and spotting the trends that matter. I am confident that the forum will contribute to pushing the boundaries of aerospace forward.”
