AIAA Congratulates Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation for Gulfstream G650 Jet Winning the
    2014 Collier Trophy

March 16, 2015 – Reston, Va. – The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) congratulates Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation (Gulfstream), an AIAA corporate member, for its Gulfstream G650 business jet winning the 2014 Robert J. Collier Trophy.

“AIAA congratulates Gulfstream for their Collier Trophy win,” said Angelo Iasiello, AIAA’s chief operating officer. “The G650 has revolutionized the business jet market with its speed and range, as well as its ‘fly by wire’ control systems. The aircraft shows what is possible when a highly skilled team sets out to shape the future of aerospace.”

Established in 1912 as the Aero Club of America Trophy by Robert J. Collier, publisher and pioneer aviation enthusiast, the Robert J. Collier Trophy Award, presented by the National Aeronautics Association, recognizes the greatest achievements in aeronautics or astronautics in America – with respect to improving the performance, efficiency, and safety of air or space vehicles. Past recipients include: The Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation’s X-2 Technology Demonstrator Team; The International Space Station; Lockheed Martin Corporation, The Boeing Company, Pratt & Whitney, Northrop Grumman Corporation, Raytheon Corporation, BAE Systems, The Boeing Company for the 787 Dreamliner, and the X-47B Industry Team.
