Scholarships and Awards

Financial Aid – Application Deadline 31 January

To help support promising future aerospace professionals, the AIAA Foundation annually awards financial aid to undergraduate and graduate students in science or engineering programs related to aerospace. Our goal is to help attract top science and engineering students to aerospace fields … to provide high-visibility recognition of these students and their work … to furnish financial assistance to aerospace students … and to assure the availability of the talented professionals the aerospace industry will need in the years ahead.


The AIAA Foundation's undergraduate scholarship program offers scholarships to college sophomores, juniors, and seniors each year, and recipients can apply to renew their scholarship annually until they graduate. 

 

Through its annual graduate scholarship program, the AIAA Foundation presents awards to graduate students doing excellent research in the air and space sciences.

 

Scholarship applications can be submitted online (applications accepted from September through January).

 

Update: 19 Feb 2013

AIAA will again administer the Iridium NEXT Scholarship. The deadline for submitting materials for the Iriidium Scholarship is 15 April 2013 1 May 2013.

The Abe M. Zarem Award for Distinguished Achievement

Through the annual Abe M. Zarem Award for Distinguished Achievement, the AIAA Foundation recognizes outstanding graduate students for their technical writing. Each award includes a trip to an international conference where the winner will participate in a competition against students from around the world.

The Joseph Freitag Sr. Award

Presented annually to an Industrial Engineering student graduating from the Daimler School

AIAA administers the Joseph Freitag Sr. Award, recognizing outstanding students graduating from the Daimler School. The award was created by the friends and family of Joseph Freitag Sr.
