This is the pivotal moment for humanity's exploration of space. The decisions that will shape this undertaking are being made today, driven by the National Vision for Space Exploration, the establishment of NASA's Exploration Systems Mission Directorate, and the need to move to the future. This is the point in time when, decades from now, people will say the exploration and development of space truly began. New missions, technologies, and infrastructure are all being planned to turn vision into reality - from robotics and nuclear-powered propulsion to innovative vehicles for human exploration of space to expeditions (both manned and unmanned) to the moon, Mars, and beyond. Conference topics will build on the importance of this moment for the world's space programs and the advance of human exploration. And as a corollary, we should communicate that this is also the critical time to participate in continuing the voyage of discovery.
