SpaceOps 2008: "Protecting the Earth, Exploring the Universe"

Following the tradition of close cooperation between ESA and EUMETSAT, these two agencies will again combine their expertise to organize and host SpaceOps 2008 12-16 May 2008, in association with the AIAA. All three institutions look forward to welcoming you to Heidelberg this May for a thought-provoking and innovative exchange of ideas and concepts on the challenging and perennially topical theme of Protecting the Earth – Exploring the Universe.

An intensive week of presentations (oral and poster) lies in store during SpaceOps 2008, which promises to be an exceptional and memorable event. The SpaceOps 2008 Technical Program Committee, composed of experts from the major space agencies in the world (including ESA, EUMETSAT, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, the Canadian Space Aegncy, etc.), has prepared an ambitious program focused on today's achievements in space operations and outlining trends in the operations of future missions. An additional feature of the program will be the presentation of the SpaceOps Outstanding Achievement Award, the Distinguished Service Medal, and a Best Paper Award.

The SpaceOps conference is a technical forum of space operations community that addresses state-of-the-art operations principles, methods, and tools. The event has been held biennially since 1990 and attracts technologists, scientists, managers, and experts from space agencies, industry, and academia. SpaceOps fosters managerial and technical interchange on all aspects of space mission operations, including robotics, human, earth orbiting, and deep space.
