Education Alley Schedule
Tuesday, 26 February 2008

9:30am – 10:00am
Education Alley Opens
Join us as we journey on the path of future space exploration. Teachers will be inspired with new tools to excite their students, Education Alley, an interactive exhibit designed to demonstrate all the possibilities of exploration to planets beyond earth. Please make sure to visit all 16 of our exhibitors.

NASA Vision for Space Exploration Experience Trailer
The trailer begins with a cosmic waiting area where visitors will learn what they will need to travel to the moon and Mars. After the "training session,” video screens display virtual models of the moon and Mars, allowing visitors to learn about their surfaces, the history of NASA's research on each, and future plans for exploration. The second section of the trailer, featuring a hexagonal theater, introduces visitors to NASA's plan to return to the moon to create a working environment that will help ensure safer, more effective future exploration further into the solar system. Highlighted are NASA-inspired technologies that have led to the improvement of the quality of life on Earth.

Be prepared to say "Wow!" when you see what happens to ordinary objects when they are dipped in liquid nitrogen during this scientific demonstration.

1:00pm
Space Weather
Misty Crown Space Weather Forecaster
We will venture into the heart of our nearest star, and see how dynamic and unpredictable our Sun can be. We will also answer question such as ... What is space weather? How does space weather affect our everyday lives? Why should we watch the Sun? What kind of tools do space weather forecasters use?
