board of directors, student liaison
The Student Liaison position will be non-voting positions. This position will allow this vital sector of the AIAA membership to have a more direct input into the Board, allowing for more informed decisions to be made. Also, concerns, questions, areas of interest, and other perspectives will be brought to light. This will allow the AIAA Board of Directors to make decisions that will enable AIAA to continue to be the preeminent society that it currently is.

The Board of Directors, Student Liaison's term is two years. Any AIAA Student that has been a member for at least 1 year and is attending a school within the United States is eligible (please note that attendance is required, but not citizenship or permanent residence status).

All candidates must submit a 500-1000 word essay that describes how they think they would best represent the AIAA student membership to the Board. Also, candidates must submit three letters of recommendation, one of which must be from a department head or faculty or research advisor, which states that the student will have their support. Candidates may be undergraduate or graduate students.

Applications can be downloaded from the AIAA Web site or can be received by contacting Lisa Bacon at 703/264-7527 or 1800 Alexander Bell Drive, Suite 500, Reston, VA 20191.

AIAA congratulates Dustin Wood, PhD student at the University of Colorado, Boulder as the new AIAA Student Board Liaison.
