Working Together to Build the Aerospace Workforce of Tomorrow

This year’s Inside Aerospace forum will bring together leaders from the United States and abroad for a candid discussion of all aspects of aerospace workforce development. The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) has partnered with the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) and the Aerospace Department Chairs Association (ADCA) to sharpen our focus on the aerospace workforce from both industry and academic perspectives. Our theme of “working together” encompasses all segments of the profession, and also brings in international viewpoints as well as those of young professionals, educators, and the legislative arm of the government.
Building on the efforts of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Aerospace Workforce Revitalization task force, keynote addresses and panel discussions will focus on every stage of aerospace workforce development:

- Understanding the Problem
- Pre-College Education
- STEM Innovations
- University-Level Education
- Attracting Technical Professionals into Aerospace Careers
- Workforce Issues on the National Stage
- Political Party Perspectives on Economic Competitiveness
- Aerospace Workforce Issues from an International Perspective
- Corporate Leadership on Workforce Issues
- Career Development and Workforce Maintenance Issues Beyond University Level
A final panel will combine views, suggestions, and observations from each panel and provide recommendations. Following the forum, AIAA will produce an executive summary of these assessments and suggest responsive investments and recommendations to each segment of the profession.
Attendance at this event is by invitation for key decision-makers from government, industry, and academia. Special events held in conjunction with the forum include the AIAA Fellows Dinner and the AIAA Aerospace Spotlight Awards Gala.
Inside Aerospace is organized by AIAA and co-sponsored by the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) and the Aerospace Department Chairs Association (ADCA). It is supported by the AIAA Public Policy, Education Activities, International Activities, Corporate Member, and Technical Activities committees.
