Structural Dynamics Technical Committee
|
|
The Structural Dynamics Technical Committee is one of
sixty-five technical committees that develop and
administer the national technical programs of the
American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics
(AIAA). Through the Technical Activities Committee
(TAC), its Technical Groups and its Technical
Committees, the AIAA conducts over twenty technical
conferences each year. Other important roles of the
AIAA include the support of short courses,
scholarships, standards, technical assessments and
policy papers.
The Structural Dynamics Technical Committee (SDTC) is
organized under the AIAA Structures, Design and Test
Technical Group. The Technical Group's Deputy Director
for Materials and Structures oversees the activities
of the Structural Dynamics Techncial Committee.
The technical area addressed by the Structural
Dynamics Technical Committee is the interactions among
aerodynamic, dynamic, elastic, damping, inertial and
control forces acting on vehicles and structures.
Included are response and stability investigations of
linear and nonlinear systems using analytical,
empirical and experimental techniques.
The Structural Dynamics Technical Committee, through
its various subcommittees, participates in
organization and planning of national technical
conferences and conference sessions, development of
education and training aids, information gathering,
assessment and distribution, promotion of cross-
disciplinary activities, and promotion of candidates
for awards and recognition in the structural dynamics
field.
