A New Service for Aerospace Advanced Technology
Members of the CALSAT Group of the Los Angeles and Orange County Sections of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics formed AeroWebSpace LLC to market to, network with, and otherwise connect advanced technology provider businesses with clients in the aerospace sector. Initially, the plan was to set up this activity within AIAA, but discussions with the Executive Committee of the local section led to the conclusion that there is, at the present time, no budget and no logical place for this new kind of activity within AIAA. The group believed strongly that this idea would lead to enhanced productivity in the aerospace high technology field so they went out and formed a partnership to do it themselves.
The web page for interactive connection can be found at http://www.aerowebspace.com. Buyers can search the database for their needs free of charge. Providers can sign up on-line for a small annual fee. Those who sign up can submit a story, including photos and graphics, to be considered as a featured company. Examples of featured companies, with links to the full stories, are now provided on the home page.
Efforts are ongoing to improve the structure of the site and to enhance its visibility. Recently a link was provided from aiaa.org. Several large companies and government agencies have been contacted with the goal of finding an active role for them.
If you have questions about AeroWebSpace you can contact Dick Denison (denison@aerowebspace.com, 661-254-6775) or Dennis Wonica (dwonica@aerowebspace.com, 310-670-4581).

First All Composite LOX Tank Flown
Microcosm, in conjunction with Garvey Spacecraft Corporation, Anaheim, California and the Reaction Research Society, Mojave, California, performed the first ever flight test of a Liquid Oxygen Composite Tank. The Microcosm 10 inch diameter LOX tank was integrated on the Garvey K-4 suborbital rocket and launched at the Reaction Research Society's Mojave Test Area on June 3, 2000. Microcosm is now building all-composite tanks for launch vehicle and spacecraft applications. We can wind tanks up to 60 inches in diameter and 25 feet long.
To discuss how Microcosm's all composite tanks can meet your program needs and requirements, please contact Mr. Jim Berry at (310)726-4100, ext. 133 or email jberry@smad.com
