PRES HENNE NAMED AIAA'S 2001 HAP ARNOLD RECIPIENT
The principal society of the aerospace engineer and scientist
has selected a Gulfstream leader for national recognition. Pres Henne, Senior
Vice President, Programs, has been selected as the winner of this year's American
Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Hap Arnold Award for excellence
in aeronautical program management.
The prestigious award is presented each year to an individual for outstanding
contribution in the management of a significant aeronautical program or project.
Henne was recognized "for outstanding contributions in the management
of the successful Gulfstream V aircraft program, which brought to market,
as planned, the world's first ultra-long range business jet." The award
is named after "Hap" Arnold, Commanding General of the Army Air
Force during World War II
and later General of the Air Force. AIAA President Dennis Picard will present
the award to Henne at the organization's Aircraft Technology, Integration
and Operations Forum to be held on Oct. 16-18 in Los Angeles. With more than
31,000 members, AIAA is the world's largest professional society devoted to
the progress of engineers and science in aviation, space and defense.
