Welcome Reception
There will be an inaugural reception in the foyer of the Convention Centre on Sunday 11th May 2008, from 1730–1930 hrs. The reception is open to all participants, regardless of the fee paid, as well as partners. To help us with our planning, you are kindly asked to indicate on the registration form whether you wish to attend.

Icebreaker Cocktail
The Icebreaker Cocktail will take the form of a boat cruise on the River Necker on Monday, 12th May 2008. Embarkation (from the mooring across the road from the Convention Centre) will run from 18h00 - 1830 hrs, with departure at 1830 hrs sharp. More details will be announced during the opening session. The cocktail is included in the full-participant registration fee. Extra tickets can be purchased for €35/$50 (on site purchases will be accepted in Euro only) at the registration desk in the Foyer of the Convention Centre. Kindly indicate on the registration form if you require additional tickets.

Classical Concert
A classical music concert will be given on Tuesday 13th May 2008 by the ESOC Classical Ensemble and the EUMETSAT Performing Music Club, starting at 1930 hrs in the Convention Centre. The programme of known works of great composers will run for approximately 1.5 hrs. As seating capacity is limited, you are kindly asked to indicate on the registration form whether you wish to attend. Registrations will be handled on a first come-first served basis.

Gala Dinner
The Gala Dinner will be held the evening of Wednesday, 14th May 2008 at 1930 hrs, at the17th century Schwetzingen Castle - the summer residence of the Palatinate Electors Karl Philipp and Carl Theodor, and also known as the "Palatinate Versailles". This dinner is included in the full-participant registration fee. Extra tickets can be purchased for €95/$140 (on site purchases will be accepted in Euro only) at the registration desk in the Foyer of the Convention Centre. Kindly indicate on the registration form if you require additional tickets and whether you would like to avail yourself of the bus transportation to be provided from the Convention Centre to the Castle and return.

Public Evening
Contrary to most specialised conferences which are open to experts only, a special event for the general public will take place on Thursday, 15 May 2008 at 1930 hrs in the Convention Centre. The aim is to increase awareness of the importance of space activities among the local community. Appropriate advertising measures will be taken to promote the event in and around Heidelberg nearer the time.

Accompanying Persons
No specific programme for accompanying persons has been organised. However, Heidelberg is a renowned tourist attraction and is therefore well equipped to assist visitors in making the most of the city and surroundings.
