Welcome to the AIAA Adaptive Structures Technical Committee
Web Page
The Adaptive Structures
Technical Committee (ASTC) is one of the sixty-six national Technical
Committees of the American Institute
of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). Activities of all the national
technical committees are governed by the AIAA Technical
Activities Committee (TAC). These activities include over twenty technical
conferences each year. The AIAA also conducts special workshops and short
courses, publishes aerospace technical and professional development information,
produces standards, provides scholarship funds, and develops technological
assessments and policy papers.
The sixty-six national Technical
Committees of the AIAA are divided into seven technical groups. The Adaptive
Structures Technical Committee is a member of the Structures, Design and
Test Technical Group. The Technical Group's Deputy Director of Materials
and Structures oversees the activities of the Adaptive Structures Technical
Committee.
The ASTC supports technical
activities that advance the relevant art, science and technologies required
for the successful application of adaptive structures to aerospace systems.
To meet this goal, the ASTC co-sponsors the annual Adaptive
Structures Conference, the chief conference concerned with the advancement
of adaptive structures technology and its application to aerospace systems.
This conference is held annually in April.
This home page is a source
of information on the Adaptive Structures Technical Committee and its activities.
Introductory information about the ASTC and adaptive
structures is given, along with the goals of the
committee. A current membership list and organization
chart is provided. Upcoming ASTC meetings
and past meeting minutes are listed;
reports created by the ASTC are also available.
A number of resources related to the field
of adaptive structures is being compiled. Finally, if you wish to contact
the ASTC with a question or concern, contact information
is given.
