Shahab Hasan

Mr. Hasan is a Research Fellow at Logistics Management Institute (LMI) in McLean, Virginia. As a member of the Technology Assessment program, he is working on tasks including the development of a safety and reliability analysis and simulation capability; assessing the costs and benefits of alternative air carrier operational strategies; and defining functional requirements for the creation of a modeling and simulation capability to analyze advanced air traffic management concepts.

Mr. Hasan came to LMI from NASA Ames Research Center where he was leading assessments of benefits and safety of air traffic management research being conducted by NASA in partnership with the FAA. As a member of the research project office, he was responsible for identifying the appropriate technical performance metrics, estimating costs and benefits, and maintaining system safety for the portfolio of technologies being developed. Prior to that, he was a member of the Systems Analysis Branch where he specialized in aircraft design and developing computational tools to aid in conceptual and preliminary design. He also applied internet technologies to allow aircraft systems analysis to be conducted online and was involved with NASA's High Speed Research and Advanced Subsonic Technology programs.
