lThe mission of the UGC is to advocate and facilitate the interoperability and reuse of unstructured grid technology and tools.
To facilitate this mission, the consortium is actively developing a standard for the interchange of data between software grid modules and software applications. Version 1.0 of this standard was released in March of 2002 (available under the Documents link). Version 2.0 of the standard is currently being developed. The UGC and it's members serve as the primary advocate for adoption of this standard.
The UGC is developing a process for certification, verification and validation of modules that conform to the standard. A list of software modules and grid frameworks that conform to the standard will be maintained at this site. In addition, as public domain modules become available, they will be placed in a repository for download by UGC members.
