Heinkel V/STOL Aircraft
Ernst Heinkel Flugzeugbau GmbH (Germany)
Heinkel (1922) -> Entwicklungsring Süd (1959)
During the final months of the war (late 1944-early 1945), Heinkel engineers in Vienna studied tailsitters, the Wespe ("wasp"), with ducted propellers rotating within annular wings.
- Power: He S 021 turboprop produced 2,000 hp (1,490 kW) plus 7.35 kN (1650 lb) thrust.
- Propellers: six-bladed propeller
- Maximum Speed: 800 km/h (432 kt)
- Wing span: 5 m (16.4 ft)
- Length: 6.2 m (20.3 ft)
