2019 Region II Student Paper Conference

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) sponsors student conferences in each AIAA Region as a means to encourage students in aerospace-related fields to discuss research, exchange knowledge, and generate interest in the field of aerospace engineering.

The AIAA Region II Student Conference is an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to present their research to their peers and professional members from industry. The students’ papers and presentations—in three categories: Undergraduate, Masters, and Undergraduate Team— will be judged and eligible for monetary prizes. The prizes are as follows:



  • 1st Place: $500 (USD) and a trip to the 2020 AIAA SciTech Forum in January, for one author
  • 2nd Place: $300
  • 3rd Place: $250

Registration Cost

The Conference receives its main financial support from a combination of the AIAA Foundation and contributions from industry. This support makes possible not only the cash awards for technical papers but also the cost-free Conference event tickets and housing costs to school delegates.

A non-refundable registration fee of $75.00 for each student delegate must accompany the completed registration forms and will be due at the end of the registration.  We do have a cancellation policy. We require that all cancellations occur by 27 March 2019. If you cancel after this date, there will be a $100.00 cancellation fee. Registration fees are waived for faculty attendees.

Professional delegates are welcome to attend the Southeastern Regional Student Conference. There are no registration fees for professional delegates. However, professional members will be asked to pay the following fees for the optional events:


Thursday Luncheon:$25.00
Friday Awards Banquet:$35.00
Field Trip:$10.00
