AIAA Career & Professional Development Committee

The AIAA Career and Professional Development Committee (CPDC) is focused on providing professional education resources and programs that assist AIAA members in the development of their careers in the aerospace environment. The committee:
  

  • Addresses the professional education and career development needs of the AIAA membership
  • Provides tailored world-class courses and training at the leading edge of aerospace technology
  • Develops, collects, and provides resources to support career and professional development of members
  • Coordinates relevant activities that being implemented at the various levels of the Institute (e.g. Sections, Technical Committees, etc.)
  • Identifies and recommends organizations, government agencies, etc. with whom partnering supports the purpose of the Committee.

There are several working groups within the committee, including:

  • New Initiatives: Review new ideas/suggestions and recommend for implementation projects/programs.
  • Career Development Programs: Implement identified and approved programs focused on career development.
  • Professional Development Programs: Implement identified and approved programs focused on professional development.
  • Resources: Identify, develop, collect and provide resources to support career and professional development of members
  • Section and TC Engagement: Coordinate (or maintain an awareness of) the relevant activities that are being implemented at the various levels of the Institute (e.g. Sections, TCs, etc.)
  • Partnerships: Identify and recommend organizations, government agencies, etc. with whom partnering supports the purpose of the Committee.

Resources developed by the committee such as the Professional Career Timeline, podcasts and videos, and archives of past career workshops are available to the Sections and other interested members.

Career Center

AIAA also offers career services such as job listings, resume posting, resume writing, and career coaching.

Continuing Education Program

AIAA provides an ongoing source for learning and professional development for the aerospace community. Through our Continuing Education offerings such as courses and workshops, we help keep aerospace professionals at their technical best.
