Solar Impulse, a solar-powered, single-seated plane, completed the last leg of its history-making cross-country journey Saturday night, safely touching down at New York’s JFK International Airport at 11:09 p.m. The cross-country journey began in California in early May, with Saturday’s final leg taking off from Dulles International Airport a little before 5 a.m. The final leg of the flight, while short on distance, took the longest time because of the need to avoid air traffic. The only problem noted was a wing issue resulting from a tear in the fabric. (Image Credit: Solar Impulse)
