Coinciding last week with the 44th anniversary of the Apollo 11 launch, billionaire Jeff Bezos revealed Friday that one of the engines he recovered from the ocean earlier this year is from the Apollo 11 mission. A NASA spokesperson verified the discovery was confirmed using information from the Marshall Space Flight Center. Because this was a private venture, it is believed that these are not public domain by default, and museums are waiting for more details before making any statements. However, according to collectSPACE, there is an agreement between NASA and Bezos regarding the engines: NASA has ownership of the artifacts and will ultimately decide where they go on museum display.
