F-35A Lightning II flights are still suspended at Eglin Air Force Base even though training was expected to resume Wednesday. This comes after a plane caught on fire during takeoff Monday. While flights are suspended, the Marines still plan to send the F-35B to the UK for the Royal International Air Tatoo and the Farnborough Airshow. F-35B flights have been suspended as well, according to Captain Richard Ulsh. A spokesperson for the Air Force’s Air Education and Training Command, said a safety investigation team is now looking into the incident, noting that it is still too early for any prediction on whether specific inspections will be required.
