AIAA Governance

In spring 2016 members were asked to make their voices heard regarding changes to the AIAA Constitution and Bylaws. An overwhelming majority of members who voted (91.8%) supported the proposed changes put forth by the Governance Working Group (GWG) and other AIAA leadership, including the Board of Directors (BOD) and Blue Ribbon Panel. 

As then-President Jim Albaugh noted in the letter announcing the results of the vote, “this marks a new beginning for AIAA,” and transition planning began immediately. What has happened since? The BOD and GWG have met twice since then to discuss the transition timeline and a Governance Transition Group (GTG) was established by the Board.

Transition to the AIAA new governance model began in May 2017. 2018 AIAA Council of Directors Election Results Announced

AIAA is pleased to announce the results of its 2018 Council of Directors election. The newly elected council members will begin their terms of office on 3 May 2018.
