AIAA / AAAE / ACC Jay Hollingsworth Speas Airport Award Recipients
The Jay Hollingsworth Speas Airport Award was established in 1983 and is co-sponsored by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), and the Airport Consultants Council (ACC). It is presented annually during the AAAE/ACC Airport Planning, Design and Construction Symposium to the nominee(s) judged to have contributed most significantly in recent years to the enhancement of relationships between airports and/or heliports and their surrounding environments via exemplary innovation that might be replicated elsewhere.
Examples of such airport-community-environmental enhancement include noise abatement for aircraft engines; aircraft flight-path modification to reduce time and space requirements for take-off and landing; airport and terminal design to improve sustainability and compatibility with the surrounding area; and airport area ground-transportation systems to increase ease of airport use while minimizing interface with normal lifestyles and the ecosystem.
The recipient will be requested to make a brief presentation highlighting the contribution and/or accomplishment that served as the basis for the award.
Nomination Deadline: 1 November
