AIAA 2014 Congressional Visits Day Registration Now Open

AIAA 2014 Congressional Visits Day Registration Now Open

Team_Texas_2011_CVD_200pxThe AIAA Congressional Visits Day (CVD) program will be held March 12, 2014, in Washington, DC. Registration for the event, which allows AIAA members to meet with Congressional decision makers about the importance of aerospace to the United States, is now open at www.aiaa.org/cvd2014. This year, the CVD event will be held in a one day format, from our opening breakfast through all of your meetings with Congressional decision makers, all activities will happen on Capitol Hill. Additionally, AIAA will make a limited number of reimbursement funds available to program participants, helping defray your costs of attending this vital advocacy program. Information about how the funds will be disbursed this year is forthcoming.

Participating in the 2014 CVD program will be very important for all aerospace professionals – from cybersecurity, to the ongoing concerns posed by ITAR, to the ever present need to ensure the next generation of aerospace scientists and engineers has the science and mathematics education they will need to join the workforce, there will be important issues for you to advocate.

To prepare you to advocate effectively at CVD, the AIAA Public Policy Committee will offer advocacy training – first with a live training class at the AIAA SciTech Forum in January, and then throughout the months of February and March via teleconferences. Whether this is your first CVD or your 17th, these sessions will introduce you to effective advocacy techniques, review the 2014AIAA Key Issues, and give you the rhetorical tools needed to ensure that you have a meaningful CVD experience.

If you should have any questions about the AIAA CVD Program, please contact Duane Hyland at 703.264.7558 or at duaneh@aiaa.org.
