    GE Power and Water 

    Roger Schonewald is Manager of Technology External Programs with GE Power and Water located in Greenville, SC. He is responsible for GE Power and Water’s collaborative advanced technology developments with the US Department of Energy and universities in product areas such as gas turbines and wind turbines. Mr. Schonewald holds a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters Degree in Business from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Boston, MA). He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lafayette College (Easton, PA). Mr. Schonewald has been in Engineering with General Electric for 33 years. During that time his engineering work has focused on aircraft engines and industrial gas turbines. In his current role he has also become involved with wind turbines and is currently co-chair of the AWEA (American Wind Energy Association) R&D committee.


    Roger is married with 4 grown children and two grandchildren. He is very active in his church, enjoys HO scale model railroading, and is an avid bicyclist.
