The aerospace industry has always been a leader in creating and using revolutionary new technologies to enhance system performance, improving parameters like speed, range, maneuverability, and safety, and today’s customers are also keenly focused on acquisition and lifecycle cost. Designing for affordability may require rethinking entire systems – or even proposing new types of systems, new concepts of operation, and new business models. At AIAA SciTech 2014 we will explore how new technologies and new approaches can influence system affordability and environmental impact, to enable the aerospace missions of tomorrow.
