    Application Criteria

     

    Undergraduate Scholarships

     
    The recipient of the scholarship will be selected on the basis of the following criteria:

    • Official College/University Transcript* (if you’ve attended more than one College/University, official transcripts from ALL schools must be provided), including undergraduate work completed through the most recent Fall term
      • Paper transcripts MUST be mailed to:

        AIAA Foundation Scholarship Program
        c/o Felicia Livingston
        12700 Sunrise Valley Drive, Suite 200
        Reston, VA 20191-5807
         
      • Secure Electronic PDF Transcripts are accepted, however they must be sent directly from your college/university's electronic delivery service. Electronic transcripts must be sent to scholarships@aiaa.org on or before the deadline date to be accepted
      • We do not accept transcripts via fax
      • We DO NOT ACCEPT HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPTS!  
    • Assessment of a 500-1,000 word essay specifying the applicant’s career objectives and an outline of the academic program required to achieve the career objectives 
    • Three (3) professional letters of recommendation (recommendations from relatives will not be accepted). Letters of recommendation must be submitted via the online application system. Paper/emailed letters will not be accepted
    • Extracurricular activities, including high school, college and community activities, offices, awards, and work experience will receive due consideration

    *An official transcript is the University's certified statement of your academic record. The official paper transcript is printed on security sensitive paper and contains the University seal and signature of the University Registrar.

    • A research description
      • Must be in PDF format
      • Must be 1-20 pages
      • Descriptions over 20 pages will not be accepted
      • Should clearly define hypotheses, research approach, objectives, and benefits of research  
    • Three (3) professional letters of recommendation (recommendations from relatives will not be accepted). Letters of recommendation must be submitted via the online application system Paper/emailed letters will not be accepted
