Carl Russell is the Associate Project Manager for Partnerships for NASA’s Revolutionary Vertical Lift Technology Project – a position he has held since January 2020. Through this role, he seeks to engage and coordinate with external partners in academia, industry, and government to enhance the RVLT research portfolio. Carl has also been a researcher at NASA Ames since 2007, with research topics including vertical lift aircraft design for low emissions, vibration testing of full-scale helicopter rotors, and wind tunnel investigations of multirotor systems. Carl also leads the Advanced Air Mobility Ecosystem Working Group for Aircraft, which brings together various government and non-government stakeholders to discuss challenges and progress towards the development of safe, quiet, efficient, and
affordable AAM vehicles.
