Aeroacoustics Award Open for Nominations 10 July 2024 1 October 2024

The Aeroacoustics Award was established in 1973 and is presented for an outstanding technical or scientific achievement resulting from an individual's contribution to the field of aircraft community noise reduction.

The award criteria comprise: (a) Scientific and Engineering Contributions (including foundational work that has spawned new approaches to important problems; innovation and development of new analytical, numerical or experimental methods; scientific impact; broad contributions to many fields); (b) Relevance and Impact (including impact on applications; incorporation of work in design tools to predict and control noise; interaction with important industrial and governmental programs); and (c) Service to the AIAA and the Aerospace Community (including activities that promote AIAA and related professional societies, aeroacoustics, and the broader scientific and engineering communities; and mentoring and outreach activities that contribute towards an engaged and diverse workforce in aerospace).

This annual award is generally presented at the AIAA AVIATION Forum/ASCEND or at the AIAA/CEAS Aeroacoustics Conference.
