AIAA once again held contests on Twitter during this summer’s AIAA AVIATION 2015 and AIAA Propulsion & Energy 2015 forums. The goal of the contests was to spur engagement and activity related to AIAA events on social media, and that objective was met.

At our most recent forum, AIAA Propulsion & Energy 2015, a total of 1,086 tweets were sent by participants in the conference. The contest winners were Christine Pastor-Barsi, Roberto A. Dextre, Kumud Ajami, and Karin Bozak.

A separate contest was also held at AIAA AVIATION 2015 in Dallas, TX. Running for an entire week, a total of 4,185 tweets were sent using the event hashtag, #aiaaAVIATION. The contest was extremely close and competitive up until the very end, when the winner, Ghassan Atmeh, had sent 1,152 tweets. The runners-up included Katelynn Orona, Roberto Palumbo, Casey Kelby, John Chawner, Carolyn Dear Woeber, Santiago Koki, Rich Wahls, and Virginia Stouffer.
