October 12, 2018 – Reston, Va. – The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) congratulates former deputy sergeant-at-arms for the U.S. Senate James Morhard on being confirmed as the Deputy Administrator of NASA.

AIAA President John Langford made the following statement upon Morhard’s confirmation:

“As career public servant, Mr. Morhard brings considerable knowledge and expertise of the appropriations and legislative process that will prove helpful in his role as deputy administrator. AIAA welcomes the opportunity to serve as a resource for Mr. Morhard as he tackles the various challenges of his new position, and it will continue to support Administrator Bridenstine and the entire NASA team as NASA and AIAA strive to maintain our nation’s leadership in space exploration and scientific discovery, while also helping to make critical advances in technology development and aeronautics research.”
