Reuters reports that the FAA will host a meeting of top civil aviation officials May 23 to discuss the safety of the 737 MAX. The FAA said that the meeting “is intended to provide participants the FAA’s safety analysis that will inform its decision to return the 737 MAX fleet to service in the U.S. when it is made.” The FAA also said that the agency will “provide safety experts to answer any questions participants have related to their respective decisions to return the fleet to service.” Reuters explains that the meeting is “separate from a joint governmental review of the Boeing 737 MAX led by the FAA that will begin on April 29 and will include nine other aviation regulators from around the world.” (Image: Boeing 737-MAX 8 planes are parked Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018, near Boeing Co.'s 737 assembly facility in Renton, WA.
